I have not been knitting much lately (ennui), but I did sew my dress for the Brave Wrap Party. I can't show any pics from the party itself (not allowed, sorry), so all these are beforehand.
I had perfect 5/8" seams and was careful to measure my size, but it still ended up being too big in the waist. See:
Pinching the extra fabric:
After taking it in. I think the bust area is a little loose, but I didn't want to mess with it too much, so I just took in the waist. These next two were taken by Mia, who watched the kids for us while we went to the party. I did get some more sun, so my farmer's tan is not quite as obvious, but it's still there.
Back.
Last pic before we went to the party. It got a lot of compliments. For a 25 cent pattern from a thrift store and $15 for the fabric and zipper, it wasn't a bad price! All the tartan dresses I liked online were around $200-400, which is a little much in my book.
